  1. Official rules are included inside  the kit box, below rules are in addition to or for clarification.
  2. All cars must be new and made from the kit provided. previous cars or someone else’s car is not permitted.
  3. Prebuilt cars may be purchased,  They have to be Boy Scout approved, and may not be altered in any way.
  4. The axels (nails) and wheels in the kit must be used and cannot be substituted.
  5. Wheels may be sanded to remove any molding burrs but may not be replaced and cannot be heavily modified beyond simple sanding.
  6. Only dry lubricant (Teflon powder and powdered graphite ) is permitted.
  7. Once a car is officially checked in, it may not be touched by anyone other than a race official. This is to ensure fairness as well as prevent a car from being accidently broken.
  8. If a car breaks down during a race, the cub scout and his parent will be given a reasonable couple of moments to get the car operational again, but if it causes an unreasonable delay of the race for others, the car will have to forfeit the race and we will continue.
  9. All cars must be qualified and checked in before the end of the check-in period.
    1. Any cars submitted after the check-in period ends will not be accepted.
    2. If a car does not meet qualification rules, the cub scout and his parent have until the end of the check-in period to get the car qualified.

TIPS:
  • Upon check-in, all cars will be weighed and placed inside a box to ensure that maximum length and width are not exceeded, So make sure your car fits the length, width and weight requirements.
      •  Width- 2 3/4”
      •  Length- 7”
      •  Weight- not over 5 ounces
      •  Width between wheels- 1 3/4”
      •  Bottom clearance between car and track- 3/8”
  • Cars may be decorated with just about anything, just make sure the original block, wheels and nails are used.
  • Height is not really restricted, but the car does have to travel under the finish line, (5 or 6 inches), and you don’t want the car too top heavy.
  • Have Fun! Yes this is a competition, but having fun is the most important thing.
If you have any questions about the rules or problems with you kit, please see your Den Leader or Cubmaster
